We Believe in Design as an Effort. A work (Obra). Our design intent is to be different, otherly (Otra), Hence we are Otra Obra.
We view design not merely as the production of functional forms, but as an active contribution to a broader diálogo cultural (cultural dialogue). Through disciplined inquiry, we introduce forms that challenge conventional perspective and prompt critical reflection. By maintaining the strict intencionalidad (intentionality) of every object we craft, we invite a deeper, more deliberate engagement with the physical world.
Our work is a dynamic conversation between the digital and the physical. We sculpt unconventional forms using advanced tools, bringing them to life through precise, hands-on craft.
Acknowledging the tension of introducing more objects into a saturated landscape, we explore and challenge ourselves daily in an effort to be intentionally otra (otherly). Our objective is the execution of enduring forms—pieces that retain their meaning and integrity well beyond the lifecycle of commoditized utility.
Every piece is the result of a meticulous process of prototyping and a genuine passion for making. We don’t just imagine; we perfect, ensuring each object possesses an undeniable quality and a unique spirit.
Our process is one of exploration. We begin by immersing ourselves in a new idea, giving careful consideration to the piece's purpose and its intended environment. We find inspiration in both existing designs and the inherent qualities of materials. This is the creative stage where we investigate forms and concepts, laying the groundwork for what is to come.
We take the most promising ideas from our initial collection and enter a feedback loop of development. This involves a continuous process of building upon the design to understand its geometry and proportions. This iterative process allows us to constantly evaluate and improve the shape and scale. As we refine the concept, we make critical decisions about the primary materials and finishes that will define the piece's character.
Refining the final concept, we focus on developing how the piece will go together, which is where the design becomes a detailed guide for assembly and fabrication with an iterative prototyping phase, where we create multiple versions of key elements to test the design and explore materials and finishes. This continuous refinement is our final check before the design moves into production.
FINAL PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
OTRA OBRA is a design studio; our work is a manifesto in form. We believe that great design is a declaration – a commitment to originality – and a testament to the fact that the best way forward is to forge our own path.

The Silla is defined by a continuous, singular length of tubular steel that navigates space with purposeful economy, translating structural necessity into a fluid, calligraphic silhouette. Suspended within this unbroken frame is a perforated surface that provides physical support while maintaining a strict, minimalist outline. Silla is an object whose clear geometric boundaries command visual permanence in any environment.
